Traditional Christmas Pudding

  • 2 cups mixed dried fruit
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, grated
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp mixed spice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Pinch of salt

    Grease a 2-pint pudding basin thoroughly.

    Mix breadcrumbs, flour, sugar, spices, and salt in a large bowl.
